The World Nobles, also known as the Heavenly Dragons, are the descendants of 19 of the 20 founding kings of the organization known as the World Government in Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga. They are vile snobs who use their political influence to hide their weaknesses, which is why practically everyone despises them. But even among them, some intriguing characters deviate from the usual pattern; one of them is certainly Saint Donquixote Mjosgard. Saint Mjosgard is a character who has done much to show that not all world nobles are vile and that they can change after experiencing the world as it really is. Saint Mjosgard was sentenced to death. Saint Donquixote Mjosgard is a world noble and a member of the Donquixote family, though he is not a close relative of Doflamingo. He was like all the world nobles, but once Otohime saved his life at one point, he changed his worldview and became a completely different person, which is why the other world nobles disliked him. He caused several incidents, including the one where he beat Saint Charlos, and was recently accused of orchestrating the failed attempt on Charlos's life, which is why the Knights of God sentenced him to death.

Saint Mjosgard is an atypical World Noble in every imaginable way.

Mjosgard spent much of his time collecting fishmen and spending a lot of money to obtain them until Fisher Tiger freed them from slavery by attacking Mary Geoise. Eight years before the beginning of the story, shortly after Jinbe became a member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Mjosgard decided to reclaim his freed slaves. He set out on a journey to Fishman Island, but his ship was attacked by a large sea creature, a Sea King, leaving the ship at the mercy of the ocean currents as it remained unmanned.

Even though he was severely injured, Mjosgard still managed to survive and landed on the island, immediately requiring a resin bubble and medical attention. At that moment, a group of Sun Pirates recognized him as their executioner and, after surrounding him, decided to kill him in revenge for all the atrocities they had suffered under him. However, Queen Otohime intervened in time by intercepting the bullet, but the World Noble, not grateful to her at all, took her hostage by pointing a gun at her.

Shirahoshi, worried about her mother's fate, inadvertently summoned the Sea Kings, who terrified Mjosgard with their presence; he then completely lost his mind and fainted. Despite this, Mjosgard was cured by Aladine at Otohime's request. After a few weeks, he left for Marie-Goise aboard a ship given to him by the king and, though reluctantly, accepted the queen's request to sail with him. During the few days she spent in Marie-Goise, she changed her character to the point that Mjosgard no longer wanted to have personal slaves.

When Charlos attempts to capture Shirahoshi with the help of CP0, Neptune attacks the World Noble, who orders Rob Lucci to kill the Fish-Man. However, Mjosgard intervenes by striking his peer with a spiked club, asking for forgiveness for his actions, and showing Neptune his gratitude for what Otohime did for him ten years earlier. Shortly after, Mjosgard declares that he will remain with the mermaid for the duration of the Levely and will take responsibility for any actions to protect the princesses.

On the fourth day of Levely, in the social plaza, Bartholomew Kuma captures Shirahoshi on Charlos's orders, and the World Nobles present, instead of helping, flee in fear. Sai asks him if he can kill the World Noble, to which Mjosgard replies that he must do with him as he wishes and that he will take responsibility. He then stops Fukaboshi who is standing in front of him and urges him to leave it to others.

The Fish-Man asked what had changed, explaining that he and his brothers would not stand by and let Shirahoshi be mistreated; Mjosgard then pointed out that their allies did not have a kingdom to run as they were pirates. Sai and Leo violently struck Charlos in the head, deforming him and knocking him out. Just as Kuma charged another laser beam to strike the two pirates, Morley grabbed him to stop him and then took him away, leaving with Karasu.

Mjosgard is then accused of letting those responsible for the attempted assassination of Charlos escape. The World Government then summons the Knights of God to investigate, and they determine that Saint Mjosgard is responsible for what happened and that the failed assassination of Saint Charlos can undoubtedly be attributed to him. A few days later, Figarland Garling, one of the Knights of God and a member of the Figarland family, finds him guilty and sentences Mjosgard to death for defending the fishmen.

This latest information comes from the preview of the upcoming One Piece manga chapter 1086. For now, Mjosgard's ultimate fate remains unknown, and we have to see if he will survive again this time. The World Government is apparently preparing for an all-out war, and the World Government's snobs are unlikely to tolerate Mjosgard's noble actions.
