Sanji has been surrounded by questions for some time, many of which have led to some rather interesting One Piece theories, but his special combat abilities still leave anime fans wondering if Sanji has Future Sight in One Piece.

Sanji may have Future Sight in One Piece, primarily based on his ability to "see into the future" in certain forms as well as information provided by the new One Piece Vivre Card Databook. That being said, this has not been confirmed since Sanji may be using a highly advanced form of Observation Haki, still poised to gain Future Sight in future episodes of One Piece.

While Sanji's ability to see the future is still debated among fans, there is substantial evidence showing that he can predict certain events—based either on his Observation Haki or his future vision. Sanji in One Piece

Sanji, also known as "Black Leg" and officially called "Vinsmoke Sanji", is the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates, as well as the third strongest member of the crew after Luffy and Zoro. He was the fourth member of the Straw Hat Pirates, initially joining the Straw Hat Pirates at the end of the Baratie Arc.

He is also one of the senior officers of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Furthermore, Sanji is a former prince of the Germa Kingdom, being the third son of the Vinsmoke family. However, Sanji chose to disown his biological family twice, initially in his youth and again in his adulthood, and his dream is to find the chef's paradise, "All Blue," making him a perfect addition to Luffy's team of allies.

Does Sanji have a vision of the future in One Piece?

Future Sight is the ability to see future events and use that information to gain an advantage. In the One Piece universe, characters can use Future Sight to gain a strategic advantage in battle, avoid dire circumstances, dodge their opponents' attacks, and much more. The possibilities are truly endless depending on how this ability is used and the user's character.

Sanji would theoretically make the perfect Future Sight user, as he has a relatively calm and collected personality with exceptional day-to-day skills. The idea of ​​Sanji having or developing Future Sight is not new to One Piece fans, and many fans thought it was only a matter of time before it was confirmed or officially revealed.

Sanji has Advanced Observation Haki

Sanji specializes in the power of Observation Haki and is highly skilled in this ability, as confirmed by One Piece author Eiichiro Oda. It is believed that this skill was initially awakened during Sanji's battle with Ivankov and his minions and allies, which took place during the two-year timeskip.

According to the One Piece Wiki, Observation Haki (also known as Observation Color or "Kenbunshoku Haki") can be described as follows:

"Kenbunshoku Haki is a form of Haki that grants the user a sixth sense that allows them to sense the presence, strength, and emotions of others, as well as gain limited precognitive abilities."

His use of Observation Haki has raised many questions among fans, as most believe he only uses his Observation Haki and not Future Sight at all—since both abilities are relatively similar in their basic attributes. Many believe that Sanji achieved Advanced Observation Haki through discipline and intense training, which is far more powerful than ordinary Observation Haki.

Many fans believe that Advanced Observation Haki can take primary forms, such as precognition, where the user can predict future events, and sensory, where the user's basic movements and senses can be enhanced with a sort of time-stopping effect. Some examples of Sanji using his Observation Haki are when he saves Chopper from Queen in Onigashima, as well as when he saves Chiffon from Oven in Whole Cake Island.

There may also be other variations of Observation Haki once the user has reached its Advanced state, all of which will allow the user to perform numerous time-manipulating abilities. While there is a chance that Sanji will officially develop Future Sight, many fans believe that he will remain an Advanced Observation Haki user, simply gaining complete mastery of the abilities and the various forms involved.

New One Piece Live Card Databook

The new One Piece Live Card Databook has come with a new take on Sanji's powers, with some hints that he might actually be using Future Sight right under our noses—or, at least, about to acquire that ability. From the information provided, it seems that Sanji can use his Observation Haki powers to see into the future, and the text was accompanied by an image of Sanji dodging Katakuri's attack as seen in the images below thanks to OP Fan Page.

Katakuri also specializes in Future Sight, which makes this instance even more perplexing: how would Sanji dodge Future Sight's attacks without having Future Sight himself? While the original One Piece Vivre card is depicted in the native language of this iconic manga and anime title, it can be roughly translated as follows:

"By reading the movement of signs and emotions, one can understand the surrounding situation and avoid danger. Some people see the future a little ahead of time thanks to extraordinary discipline."

Of course, many fans took this as official confirmation that Sanji had Future Sight—either choosing not to use it in most cases or using it without anyone knowing. Still, the majority of One Piece fans believe that Sanji actually used his Observation Haki during the same encounter with Katakuri—where even Luffy seemed to have trouble dodging Katakuri's attacks.

Most One Piece fans believe that this Vivre Card simply indicates that Sanji is about to achieve Future Sight—or at least hints that he will somehow obtain Future Sight somewhere down the line. Some fans believe that Sanji's new Future Sight ability could debut during a battle with Queen, or somewhere near the end of One Piece's entire story.

That being said, there is still various evidence that could indicate that Sanji has been using Future Sight for some time. Aside from the potentially groundbreaking information provided by the new One Piece Live Card Databook, Sanji's Future Sight has not been "officially" confirmed. While this information can still be considered canon, fans are still unsure whether this indicates that Sanji currently possesses Future Sight or if he is about to gain Future Sight in future installments of One Piece.
