Summary
Sword Art Online is a multimedia project that has also been reimagined as a game. At the Dengeki Bunko 2011 Autumn Festival stage event, it was announced that SAO and Accel World light novel series would be getting anime and video game adaptations.
The first SAO game was released in 2013. As of February 2020, there are more than ten games, with the main ones published and distributed by Bandai Namco and covering many gaming platforms, including PC (Windows), PlayStation Portable, and the others also include Android and many more.

In the Moment of Infinity storyline, after Heathcliff's defeat, a software glitch prevents Kirito and everyone else from leaving. Additionally, Leafa, Sinon, and other players from other full-length MMOs also appear in the game. The game assumes the player has read or watched the original series.
The gameplay features a simulated single-player MMO (or 4-player via ad hoc), as well as visual novel elements. True to the game's world, there are no save/logout points outside of the loading screen checkpoints.

Hollow Fragment is a high-definition expansion and repackage of Moment of Infinity that includes all the content from "Floor Clearing" and a new "Hollow Area" of Aincrad to discover.
A patch improves gameplay and adds 30 hours of playtime while increasing the level cap, and there is costume DLC.

An open-world action RPG and a sequel to Hollow Fragment , though developed by Artdink. The player can choose to play as someone other than Kirito, though the story remains unchanged and the combat is rebalanced.
Plot-wise, the game takes place with a non-canon development at the time the Gun Gale Online arc begins in ALfheim Online, introducing free flight and magic. There, Kirito competes with the Shamrock guild to complete ALO's expansion first.

Hollow Realization is a sequel to Lost Song , again developed by Aquria. It introduces a bonding system with companions chosen from among the 300 NPCs and features online multiplayer.
