Seraph of the End - Figures

Despite only airing for one season,Seraph of the End , or Owari no Seraph, remains a staple of 2010s anime. It's a show truly of its time, embracing the trend of dark dystopian fiction with mystical elements popularized by contemporaries like Attack on Titan. The concept is simple: humans versus vampires. But over time, the show's writers have increasingly added mystery and gray morality to create a much more complex universe. The heroes and villains are all stylish and cool, fitting the franchise's dark vibe. However, a few figure lines have taken these hardened killers and softened them up in an adorable chibi style. Three such Seraph of the End chibi figures are "Pop! Anime: Seraph of the End Yuichiro Hyakuya," "Dorbz Seraph of the End Vampire Reign Shinoa Hiiragi w/ Weapon," and "Pop! Anime: Seraph of the End Ferid Bathory.

Pop! Anime: Seraph of the End Yuichiro Hyakuya

Seraph of the End's vampire-hunting protagonist, Yuichiro Hyakuya, poses in chibi form in this figure from Funko's Pop! Anime line. His JIDA crossover uniform features all the lime green accents from his manga and anime creations. This includes the thin trim on the collar of his standard cape. He wears his katana scabbard on his hip, the brown leather strap slung across his body from his shoulder. His sword is drawn in his right hand at a slight downward angle. The blade is a matte dark charcoal contrasting with a slight sheen on his uniform with a bright green accent along the edge. Additional details on his clothing include stitching along the sides of his white gloves and small gold eyelets on his boots. His facial details have been reduced to follow the Pop! Anime style. However, his messy black hair has been carefully sculpted.

In keeping with the Dorbz style, her eyes are cheerfully painted closed with her eyelashes adorning the top of the line. The round body features a simplified paint job of the Imperial Japanese Demon Army uniform with a marine-style bow and lime green accents. Pop! Anime: Ferid Bathory, the Seraph of the End

Funko offers a cute, rounded figure of Seraph of the End's main antagonist, Ferid Bathory. Ferid stands with his hand on his hips and his right leg turned outward. The red bow around his neck flows to the side above his neck frill. His white coat and noble-inspired costume are sculpted with impressive detail for Funko's streamlined design. The small frills on the edge of his sleeves stand out from the black sailor-style cuffs. His knee-high black boots have been sculpted to show the natural creases and folds of his joints. The series of gold buttons on the side are included as an added detail. His silver ponytail swings behind his head, tied with a simple black ribbon. His vampiric ears notably peek out from behind his bangs and side-parted locks.

Seraph of the End Series History

In 2012, all of humanity was wiped out by a man-made virus. The only survivors were children under the age of thirteen. In the virus's aftermath, vampires emerged from the underworld, violently invading the ravaged remains of society. These vampires offered "protection" to their new subjects in exchange for drinking their blood. One of the surviving children was twelve-year-old Yuichiro. Yuichiro and the rest of the children at the Hyakuya Orphanage planned an escape from their vampire captors, resulting in numerous deaths, including Yuichiro's best friend, Mikaela. Mikaela's sacrifice allowed Yuichiro to escape, and he was found by the Imperial Japanese Demon Army's vampire extermination unit, the Moon Demon Company. Four years later, Yuichiro seeks revenge for his fallen family by exterminating the vampires, unaware that his friend Mikaela survived as one of them.
