Sucy Manbavaran Little Witch Academia - Nendoroid

The Little Witch Academia franchise, produced by Studio Trigger, began as a small part of the 2013 Anime Mirai, which was part of the Young Animator Training Project. Although the original short film was screened in 14 theaters in Japan, it quickly gained an impressive following. Just a few months after its original release, Trigger attempted to crowdfund a sequel to the original short film, which reached its $150,000 goal in just five hours. With the success of the second film and the subsequent full-length television series, the large fanbase Trigger had cultivated created a reasonable market for Little Witch Academia merchandise, which production companies were eager to supply. One such type of merchandise is collectible figurines based on the franchise's many characters. Sucy Manbavaran is one such character whose mischievous personality and love of pranks have led her to become a fan favorite in the series. As such, Sucy was finally made into a Nendoroid with the release of "Nendoroid Little Witch Academia Sucy Manbavaran (Re-run)".

This recreation of Sucy features her unique version of the Luna Nova Magical Academy uniform, which consists of a long purple tunic that reaches down to her feet, a white undergarment with a matching ribbon tied around the collar, a red sash that sits loosely around her waist, and a large witch's hat. It also includes additional parts like a pair of mushrooms, a mysterious potion, a plant sprout, Sucy's alpaca from her own dream world, and Sucy's wand, which, when combined with this figure's many points of articulation, allows for a wide range of potential poses and customizations. It also includes three different face plates to change her expression from tired to ecstatic to mischievous. Her hat is also removable, adding even more possibilities.

About Sucy Manbavaran: Background

Sucy Manbavaran is a young witch from an unknown country in Southeast Asia, infamous around the school for her peculiar tastes and personality. While she may appear listless, yet calm and endlessly tired on the surface, Sucy is incredibly diligent when it comes to testing her potions and poisons. While most witches at Luna Nova dislike alchemy and potion-making due to the noxious fumes they can give off, Sucy thrives on it, causing others to perceive her as some sort of monster. On top of this, Sucy is always looking for guinea pigs to test her potions on, with Atsuko being the most likely target. While Sucy uses people like Atsuko as a test subject, she truly cherishes the friendships she has, especially when it comes to Atsuko.

About Sucy Manbavaran: Abilities

Although Sucy is quite skilled in other types of magic, such as broomstick flying, illusion magic, and fusion magic, her specialty is by far alchemy. No matter where she and her friends go, Sucy always has the ingredients and equipment to create potions and poisons to get them out of any bind. Examples of things she can create include poison gas potions, explosive potions, invigorating potions, plant growth potions, energizing potions, and potions that can briefly increase a person's magical power. In addition to her extensive knowledge of alchemy, Sucy herself is also immune to poisons and toxins, making her a truly formidable foe in the field of alchemy.

Other important characters in Little Witch Academia

Of all the characters in Little Witch Academia, two of the most important characters to Sucy would be Atsuko Kagari and Lotte Jansson, who make up the main trio of the series.

Atsuko "Akko" Kagari

Atsuko Kagari , who is often called "Akko" by her friends, is the main protagonist of Little Witch Academia and is a first-generation witch from Japan. As a child, she was captivated by a magical performance by Shiny Chariot, which eventually led Atsuko to become inspired enough to become a witch herself. Although Shiny Chariot was considered something of a laughingstock by the greater magical community, Atsuko's passion for Chariot never dies. Regarding Atsuko's personality, many see her as incredibly outgoing, optimistic, and always up for a challenge. Although many other students see her as a lost cause due to her lack of magical ability or desire to study, Atsuko never lets others get her down. That said, her impulsive and irrational behavior often gets her into trouble at school, which lands Atsuko and the others in hot water.

Lotte Jansson

Lotte Jansson is a witch originally from Finland before going to study at Luna Nova Magical Academy. Of the trio consisting of Sucy, Atsuko, and Lotte, Lotte is by far the shyest and most reserved of the group. That said, she often worries about others, especially when it comes to Atsuko, as Lotte believes that Atsuko's desire to be more like Shiny Chariot could be her downfall. In addition to basic magical abilities like broomstick flying and shapeshifting magic, Lotte's specialty is communicating with spirits and fairies without the need to directly use magic. Rather than using magic, she can use a special song from her hometown to speak to spirits for information or ask them to help her cast a spell.
