Synopsis

Lloyd is a teenager and aspiring adventurer from the remote city of Kunlun, known for its extremely powerful heroes and located next to the world's most dangerous dungeon. Considered weak in his city compared to everyone else, he is determined to become stronger in order to achieve his dream of becoming a soldier and decides to leave his hometown for the capital of Azami, where he begins living with a haughty but clumsy witch named Marie. To his surprise, he soon discovers that he is not weak at all and, compared to everyone else in Azami, is in fact vastly overpowered!

Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies Moves to a Starter Town is a comedy-fantasy light novel series written by Toshio Sato and illustrated by Nao Watanuki, published by SB Creative under their GA Bunko imprint since February 2017. The series has also been adapted into two manga series. The first features illustrations by Hajime Fusemachi and has been serialized on Square Enix's Gangan Online website since September 2017, and the second of which is titled Tatoeba Last Dungeon Mae no Mura no Shonen ga Joban no Machi no Shokudo de Hataraku Nichijo Monogatari None Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies Works Every Day at a Cafeteria in a Starter Town ) with illustrations by Souchuu and has been serialized in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine since February 2020.

The anime adaptation was announced during a livestream of the "GA Fes 2019" event in October 2019. It is produced by LIDEN FILMS and stars migmi as director with Deko Akao as series composer, Makoto Iino as character designer, and MICHIRU as music. The opening theme song is "Tatoeba Sore wa Yuki no Maho" by Haruka Yamazaki, and the ending theme song is "I'mpossible?" by Luce Twinkle Wink☆. The anime was originally scheduled to air starting in October 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It premiered on January 4, 2021, on AT-X and other channels and is available for streaming via Funimation (North America, the British Isles, Mexico, and Brazil), Wakanim (Europe), and AnimeLab (Australia and New Zealand).

Characters

Lloyd Belladone (Voiced by: Yumiri Hanamori)
Lloyd is a boy from the remote town of Konlon who travels to the capital city of Azami to pursue his dream of becoming a soldier. Although he thinks he is weak, he is actually extremely powerful compared to everyone in the capital. He is honest and good-natured but also naive, which gets him into trouble wherever he goes. He is skilled at cooking, laundry, and cleaning.

Marie (Voice of: Ai Kayano)
Marie is a witch living in the capital who sells potions in exchange for information. She is Alka's student, who orders her to let Lloyd live with her. She is often troubled by Lloyd and Alka's unusual behavior. She calls herself a witch but actually hides her true identity.

Alka (Voice of: Natsumi Hioka)
Alka is the leader of Konlon Village. Although she looks like a young girl, she is actually hundreds of years old, although no one knows her true age. She is a troublemaker who wants to destroy the country for rather trivial reasons, and she loves Lloyd as if he were her own son.

Selene Hemein (Voiced by: Madoka Asahina)
Selen is a young girl from a noble family. As a child, she placed a cursed belt over her face and became known as the "Princess of the Cursed Belt." After Lloyd lifts the curse and frees her from the belt, she begins to believe he is her soulmate.

Riho Flavin (Voice of: Minami Tsuda)
Riho is a one-armed mercenary. She has a difficult personality and loves money, but her skills are solid. She is a good judge of character and recognizes Lloyd's abilities at first glance. She plans to use these abilities to make money.

Phylloquinone (Voice of: Miku Ito)
Phyllo is a martial artist and part of a mercenary duo with her sister Mena. Together, they are considered remarkable mercenaries. She meets Lloyd while visiting the capital in search of Riho and volunteers to be his apprentice after witnessing his overwhelming power. She is calm and expressionless, making it difficult to know what she is thinking.

Mena-quinone (Voice of: Haruka Tomatsu)
Mena is a witch and part of a mercenary duo with her sister Phyllo. Together, they are considered remarkable mercenaries. She appears cheerful, always has a smile on her face, and is easy to approach, but she is actually very calculating. Her specialty is water magic.

Allan Lidocaine (Voiced by: Seiichiro Yamashita)
Allan is the eldest son of the Lidocaine family, renowned for their military prowess, and a military academy student who has won numerous martial arts competitions. He is determined to rise through the ranks of the military. He doesn't get along with Selen.

Shoma (Voiced by: Soma Saito)
Shoma is a lively young boy from Konlon. Lloyd considers him like his own brother. He usually works as a courier when traveling and sometimes returns to the village to share information about the outside world and what's popular.

Merthophan (Voice of: Satoshi Hino)
Merthophan is a colonel in the army and an instructor at the military academy. Despite his youthful appearance, he exudes a relaxed but authoritative demeanor and quickly notices Lloyd's skills. He believes that discipline is of the utmost importance.

Choline Steroids (Voice of: MAO)
Choline is a colonel in the army and an instructor at the military academy. She is an expert in healing magic and is the most gifted magician in the kingdom.

Chrome (Voiced by: Taketora)
Chrome is a former soldier who, for some unknown reason, owns a cafeteria at the military academy. When Lloyd comes to his shop for a job interview, he senses his strength at first glance and hires him to keep an eye on him. The food he serves is questionable.
