Synopsis
Nishikata, a middle school student, is constantly teased by his classmate Takagi, who sits next to him. She loves to make fun of Nishikata endlessly. Although Nishikata tries to get revenge on her, his attempts always fail. Will he succeed in teasing the teaser?
Background
Written by Soichiro Yamamoto, the Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san series began as a Japanese manga series published in Shogakukan magazine's manga supplement "Monthly Shonen Sunday Mini" and was later transferred to Monthly Shonen Sunday in July 2016. As of February 2018, six volumes have been published. The series has been licensed in English by Yen Press.
The first season of the anime adaptation directed by Hiroaki Akagi ( Hina Logic - from Luck & Logic ) with animation by Shin-Ei Animation began airing in Japan on January 8, 2018. The anime features a storyline written by Michiko Yokote and character designs by Aya Takano, and ran for 12 episodes. The opening theme is "Iwanai kedo ne" by Yuiko Ohara and the ending theme is "Kimagure Romantic" by Rie Takahashi.
Season 2 of the anime was announced in January 2019 and will premiere in Japan in July 2019. The cast and crew will reprise their roles. The opening theme song is "Zero Centimeters" by Yukiko Ohara.
