Vegetto - Dragon Ball
Vegetto (sometimes also spelled Vegito or Vegerot) is a character created after Goku and Vegeta fuse using Potara earrings. Although his Fusion Dance counterpartGogeta is likely as strong as Vegetto, Gogeta did not make a canonical appearance until Dragon Ball Super: Broly . As such, Vegetto is the strongest character in Akira Toriyama 's original Dragon Ball manga.
Character and personality
Like Gogeta, Vegetto is voiced by both Masako Nozawa (Goku's voice actress) and Ryō Horikawa (Vegeta's voice actor). The two voices are simply layered on top of each other. In Funimation's English dub, Sean Schemmel and Christopher Sabat voice Vegetto.
Vegetto wears an outfit that combines elements of both Goku and Vegeta's clothing. While Vegetto's costume primarily borrows from Vegeta's outfit, Goku's classic orange gi is represented by an orange undershirt worn under the blue suit. Vegetto also wears Vegeta's gloves and boots. Of course, Vegetto also wears a pair of Potara earrings, the elements necessary for fusion. His hair also closely resembles Vegeta's, but has two bangs that stick out in a "V" shape.
In terms of personality, Vegetto displays Vegeta's arrogance, pride, and strategic thinking, while Goku's carefree and cheerful personality also shines through. He enjoys toying with his opponents quite often and even plays pranks on them. For example, after Super Buu turns him into candy, Vegetto proclaims that he is "a jawbreaker... the strongest candy in existence!" Both sides of his personality are shown when he is absorbed by Super Buu, as Vegetto knew he could destroy the monster at any moment but decided to toy with him instead. Vegetto also understood, however, that destroying Super Buu would likely also kill everyone he had absorbed. As such, Vegetto killed two birds with one stone and created an opportunity to toy with Super Buu while also creating an opportunity to save his friends and family at the same time. His strategic thinking is also shown after Super Buu attempts to absorb him a second time. He manages to carefully use his energy to seal Buu within himself and force him out.
Vegetto in Dragon Ball Super is almost identical to his appearance in Dragon Ball Z , but it is much more serious, as his enemy knows the Potara fusion in great detail and can exploit the technique's weaknesses. He wastes no time provoking the enemy or prolonging the battle, although he always mocks the enemy for his disordered form.
Transformations
-
Super Saiyan : Like Goku and Vegeta, Vegito is capable of transforming into a Super Saiyan. In this form, he tells Super Buu to call him Super Vegito, a trait likely borrowed from Vegeta when he transformed into his Ascended Super Saiyan form. In this form, Vegito can easily overpower Buu and even possesses bioelectricity sparks like Super Saiyan 2 , though he apparently only uses Super Saiyan 1 when fighting Buu.
-
Candy Form: After being transformed into candy by Super Buu, Vegetto transforms into a coffee-flavored jawbreaker. Due to his strength, Vegetto is fully capable of moving and talking, to the point of inflicting damage on Super Buu while mocking him. Due to his small size, Vegetto is virtually impossible to hit. One of the only drawbacks to this form is that he cannot use any energy-based attacks.
-
Super Saiyan 2 : In Dragon Ball Heroes, Vegetto can transform into a Super Saiyan 2. His appearance in this form is largely the same, although he loses one of his bangs during the transformation.
-
Super Saiyan 3 : This is also a transformation that only appears in Dragon Ball Heroes. While promotional materials and game card art show him with two bangs in this form, Vegetto only has one in the game.
-
God-like Saiyan: This form is available to those who are able to transform into Super Saiyan God and allows those who use it to have the strength of the God form without the actual transformation. Achieving this state is a requirement for transforming into Super Saiyan Blue .
-
Super Saiyan Blue : This form of Vegito first appeared inDragon Ball Super . In this state, he calls himself "Vegito Blue" (anime) or "Blue Vegerot" (manga). This form was used to fight Fused Zamasu in the Future Trunks saga.
-
Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken: Another form unique to Dragon Ball Heroes. This form is essentially Super Saiyan Blue, enhanced by Goku's Kaio-ken technique.
Techniques and skills
-
Big Bang Flash: This attack is based on one of Vegeta's signature attacks, the Big Bang Attack. While the original attack is an energy sphere, Big Bang Flash is a beam. Big Bang Flash was used against Super Buu in an attempt to knock him down after the enemy attempted to damage Vegetto with an energy blast.
-
Final Kamehameha: A fusion of Vegeta's Final Flash and Goku's Kamehameha. The technique begins with Vegito bringing his hands together in front of him as if charging a Final Flash. Then, he moves his hands to the side and continues charging the attack like a Kamehameha.
-
Spirit Sword: This attack uses a form of condensed energy to create a blade that can be manipulated at will. Several variations of this technique can be found in games like Dragon Ball Fusions and Dragon Ball Heroes: None.
