Synopsis

Nariyuki Yuiga, a third-year high school student, is assigned to tutor three beautiful girls who are geniuses in some subjects and disasters in others. Each with their own goals and dreams for the future, they give it their all and study hard. But as they spend more time with Nariyuki, they all begin to develop feelings for him.

In the second season, Nariyuki and the three girls continue to do their best in their studies. However, by this point, the three girls have grown closer to Nariyuki and to each other. More emotions and awkward moments are sure to surface as the trio struggles to define their relationship with Nariyuki.

Background

We Never Learn is a manga created and illustrated by Taishi Tsutsui. It began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2016 and is currently ongoing. The first season of the anime adaptation of the series began airing in April 2019 and ran for 13 episodes. An OVA episode will be released on November 1, 2019.

A second season is scheduled to air in fall 2019. It is directed by Yoshiaki Iwasaki and written by Go Zappa. The anime is produced by Studio Silver and Arvo Animation.

Characters

Nariyuki Yuiga (Voice of: Ryota Osaka)

The story's main protagonist is a third-year student, the top of his class, whose impeccable dedication to his studies was inspired by his late father. Nariyuki's goal is to receive a special VIP appointment. To do so, he must help three genius students gain admission to the universities of their choice. He has short black hair and wears glasses.

Fumino Furuhashi (Voice of: Haruka Shiraishi)

A third-year student who is extremely gifted in literature and the arts. She has long, straight purple hair and wears a light teal top. Her weakness is mathematics, but she wants a science degree.

Rizu Ogata (Voice of: Miyu Tomita)

Another third-year student. She owes her fame to her exceptional abilities in science and mathematics. Her goal is to pursue a career in literature, but this is the field in which she struggles. She has short orange hair, glasses, and wears a brown blazer.

Takemoto Uruka (Voice of: Sayumi Suzushiro)

Another third-year student who needs Nariyuki's help. Uruka is an absolute ace at track and field but terrible at just about everything else. She wants to earn a swimming scholarship to college but needs to greatly improve her English grades to do so. She has short, wild purple hair and is tanner than the other girls. She's also known Nariyuki since middle school.

Mafuyu Kirisu (Voice of: Lynn)

Rizu and Fumino's former guardian and teacher at Ichinose High School.

Asumi Kominami (Voice of: Madoka Asahina)

A former student at Ichinose High School, she works in a cafe to pay for her studies. Asumi wants to pursue a career in medicine.

Sawako Sekijou (Voice of: Saori Onishi)

President of the school's chemistry club, Sawako admires the scientific genius, Rizu.

Miharu Kirisu

Mafuyu Kirisu's younger sister and amateur skater.
