Yo! Son Goku and Friends Return!! (OVA) - Dragon Ball
Dragon Ball: Yo! Son Goku and Friends Return!! is the first Dragon Ball anime to be released in nearly ten years after Goku's appearance in the remade Dr. Slump anime series in 1999. The OVA first aired in Japan on September 21, 2008, during the Jump Super Anime Tour to celebrate Shōnen Jump's 40th anniversary.
History
Two years after Kid Buu was defeated by Goku , Mr. Satan is still mistakenly considered the hero. While a huge hotel is being built in his name, he invites all the fighters who participated in the fight against Buu. Goku's family continues to grow radishes, even though Mr. Satan provides modest sums of money to compensate for the fame and credit he accidentally received for defeating Buu. Videl calls Gohan and asks him to bring her entire family to the party, to which Goku refuses until he hears about the open banquet.
Master Roshi None Android 18 , and Krillin leave for the hotel and agree to take Goku's family with them while Piccolo flies behind. Vegeta's family arrives first and, when he and Goku meet, they start arguing because they were both wearing their battle outfits to the party. When the party begins, Goku and Vegeta leave for the main hall. Other attendees include Dende Mister Popo, Korin, Yajirobe , King Kai, Bubbles, Gregory, Kibito Kai, Old Kai, Puar , Launch and Ox King While everyone is eating, two space pods land on Earth.
A Saiyan and a small alien appear from the space pods. The Saiyan uses a scouter to scan the group and suddenly calls Vegeta "big brother." The guests are stunned when the small Saiyan introduces himself as Tarble, Vegeta's younger brother. The reason no one knew Tarble was because he was sent to a distant planet due to his lack of fighting ability. Tarble, however, has been found and is being pursued by former members of Frieza's army, Abo and Kado.
Generally, Goku is excited about fighting someone strong. Tarble measures Goku with his scouter and tells him it would be pointless, as his power level is too low. Vegeta immediately chastises the young Saiyan for relying on a scouter to read power levels. Goku begins to grow stronger, and the scouter explodes when he turns Super Saiyan . Tarble is shocked by this ability and can't believe what he sees. Soon, everyone is arguing over who gets to fight the alien threat. Goku, Vegeta, Krillin, Gohan, the kids, and even Master Roshi all want their piece of the pie.
Goku teleports everyone to Mount Paozu, suggesting that whoever pulls the longest radish wins and can fight the invaders.Goten apparently pulls out the longest radish, much to Vegeta's disappointment. Jealous, he urges Trunks to pull out an even longer one. Now under a lot of pressure, Trunks pulls out a very thin radish, which turns out to be longer than Goten's. Vegeta is now proud and tells his son to avenge his uncle.
Meanwhile, Abo and Kado continue their pursuit of Tarble and land on Earth, causing a ruckus at the hotel. Goku teleports everyone away and suggests that if there are two enemies, then there should also be two people allowed to fight. Vegeta insists that only Trunks can handle the situation, but ignoring Vegeta's words, Goku then tells Goten that he can join the fight. Vegeta is angry about this, but allows it when persuaded by Bulma .
Abo and Kado claim they are even stronger than Frieza . Hearing this, Goku is interested to see how the boys will handle the fight. Abo and Kado are easily defeated until they each split into three people and begin to regain control of the fight. Vegeta is angry at Trunks for relying on his eyes and ears and tells him to sense the original's ki. He can't seem to get used to it, so he asks Gohan for advice, which Gohan does, turning the tables once again in the boys' favor. Abo and Kado, now overwhelmed by the young Saiyans, decide to fuse into Aka.
Aka is far stronger than Abo and Kado individually and is able to ruthlessly defeat Trunks and Goten without much difficulty. The boys grow tired of being on the defensive, however, and they fuse Gotenks as well. At first, they fail and form Fat Gotenks, but succeed on a second attempt. He then crushes the giant Aka using Yamcha's Wolf Fang Fist, Tien's Volleyball attack, and Dynamite Rolling Thunder Punch in Super Saiyan. Aka is launched into a nearby lake and submerged while everyone continues to eat, as the fight seems over. Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Gotenks remain, however. The battle is far from over as Aka bursts out of the lake in a rage. He fires an energy blast that hits Gotenks and causes the newly constructed hotel to be destroyed. Aka then continues to fire indiscriminately, destroying more and more of the hotel.
Piccolo deflects the energy attacks with a special beam cannon, Krillin with a destructive disk, and Yamcha protects Bulma, Oolong , and Puar from falling rubble using the Spirit Ball. Yajirobe and Roshi also rescue people from the falling debris. Meanwhile, Krillin and Yamcha change into their signature Turtle School battle uniforms. Goku and Vegeta decide to finish the fight. As he rushes towards Aka, Goku momentarily distracts Vegeta, allowing him a brief chance to rush towards Aka. Aka launches a flaming energy attack, which Goku counters with a Kamehameha and follows up with a powerful punch.
With Aka defeated and the hotel ruined, Videl reminds Mr. Satan of the cost of an oversized ego, to which he ill-temperedly agrees. Goku offers to settle the matter with the Dragon Balls, but Mr. Satan declines, remembering Videl's words. The party continues near the hotel ruins, and Goku invites Abo and Kado to join them. They are impressed by the delicious taste of Goku's family radishes. Goku and Vegeta begin arguing and childishly eating each other's favorite foods, which they both saved for last, eventually going Super Saiyan and screaming while their wives , Chi-Chi and Bulma , respectively hide their heads in embarrassment.
