Youkai Apato no Yuuga na Nichijou (Life at the Monster Apartment)
Summary
Yôkai Apato no Yuuga na Nichijou , also known as Life in the Monster Apartment or ToiApa for short, is an upcoming supernatural slice-of-life anime series based on the popular light novel series by Hinowa Kouzuki.
After losing his parents and living with his family for years, first-year high school student Yuushi Inaba moves out to live on his own. Luckily, the dorm he was supposed to live in burns down, and he's forced to look for an economical alternative. Only after moving in does he discover that humans aren't the only tenants in the mansion; he shares the building with various supernatural creatures—ghosts, youkai, and mononoke—and he can't even tell his best friend!
The first novel was released in 2003 and received the Fuji TV Award at the 51st Sankei Children's Book Award the following year. Ten volumes and three companion books have been published to date, including the spin-off Las Vegas Gaiden None. Youkai Apartment also has an ongoing manga adaptation illustrated by Waka Miyama, which began serialization in Monthly Shonen Sirius in 2011. It currently has 13 volumes, the latest of which was released last April.
The series will premiere on July 3 on Tokyo MX, on July 4 on Yomiuri TV and BS11, and on July 5 on 20 video-on-demand services, including Netflix, Amazon Video, Anime Hodai, Nico Nico Channel, and Google Play.
