About Yumi

Yumi is a third-year student and the leader of the Gessen Girls' Academy for Good Shinobi. She is the granddaughter of Kurokage and often has conflicting feelings about his vision of eradicating all evil from the world.

Background

Yumi is a student and one of the leaders of the infamous Gessen Girls' High School. She decided to fulfill her murdered grandfather's vision of eliminating all evil in the world. As she grew up, he adopted her and trained her in high-level shinobi skills, as well as his ideology. Yumi's strong desire to eliminate all evil shinobi and their associates led her to distrust students from rival schools, who associated with evil. Her thoughts on other students from rival schools were often conflicting, as she was aware of the existence of good alongside evil. A notable character Yumi often clashes with is Asuka, a rival shinobi whom Yumi initially sees as a sworn enemy, but eventually accepts the possibility of Asuka's good intentions. Now, a less extreme Yumi sets out to fulfill her grandfather's vision, albeit in a much more toned-down way with a more balanced approach. Yumi's stance on good versus evil is partly motivated by a once-evil shinobi group called the Crimson Squad. This group of girls wreaked havoc on the shinobi who were once good, as they were brainwashed by the boss of their evil academy. Yumi has an adopted sister, Fubuki, with whom she doesn't get along. The two sisters were estranged but eventually met again through a series of matches, which restored their friendship.

Special Abilities

In the video game Senran Kagura, Yumi is highly skilled in her special abilities. She is trained in ninjutsu, can create illusions, and even increase her attack speed. She is also able to use her transformation skills and fight with a fan as an assault weapon.

Yumi forms many relationships, both with girls from her own academy and those from rival academies. Among the characters closest to her are Asuka and Hanzo, the leader of the Hanzo National Academy.

Asuka

Asuka is a student at Hanzo National Academy and Yumi's rival. She convinces Yumi that evil can coexist, which Yumi eventually accepts.

Hanzo

Hanzo is the head of the infamous Hanzo National Academy. Yumi attempts to fight Hanzo to help her fulfill her grandfather's vision, but she soon discovers that he was her teacher all along. Hanzo is also Asuka's teacher.
